Edgetech offers molybdenum rolled foil products in a variety of thicknesses, lengths, and surface treatments. Materials less than 0.005 inches thick are classified as foil. Foils are commonly used in the production of heat and X-ray shielding, drawn parts, electronic components, metallization sources, furnace insulation, and chemically etched parts. Molybdenum foil can be etched into fine patterns, making it useful in the semiconductor industry.

We are a leading global supplier of high-quality molybdenum foil products. We offer standard foils in thicknesses ranging from 0.0004″ to 0.005″ (or thicker) and can be cut to size or rolled to customer-specified thickness, length, surface finish, and other material properties. As with all of our materials, our sheets start as metal powder that is pressed into ingots, sintered, and then rolled. Our advanced processes allow us to customize products to meet specific customer material and performance requirements to ensure optimal performance for your application.

Pure molybdenum possesses unique properties that are suitable for use in several applications and industries. It may be most well-known for its high melting point, 2620 °C, however, its usefulness is driven by its performance in high temperatures and corrosive environments:

-Load-bearing capabilities at temperatures up to 2000 °C,

-Excellent thermal and electrical conductivity

-Low vapor pressure at high temperature

-Low coefficient of thermal expansion

-Resistance to corrosion

-Shielding from high-energy particles

Molybdenum Foil Application

-Semiconductor industry: Moly foil is often used in thin film deposition processes in semiconductor manufacturing to prepare thin film components such as metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistors (MOSFETs).

-Electronics: Due to its high melting point and thermal conductivity, mo foil is used as a heat sink in many electronic devices, helping to maintain device performance at high temperatures.

– Laboratory research: Moly foils are used in laboratories for a variety of research and experimental purposes, including optical research, thin film experiments, and other experiments that require high-temperature and high-density materials.

-Vacuum equipment: Since mo foil has a high melting point and corrosion resistance, it is used in the manufacturing of vacuum equipment and vacuum accessories to ensure the stability of the equipment under high temperatures and vacuum conditions.

-Thermal barrier coating: Moly foil is sometimes used to prepare thermal barrier coatings in high-temperature environments to provide high-temperature insulation.

Packaging for our molybdenum foil

Our Molybdenum foils are carefully handled to minimize damage during storage and transportation and to preserve the quality of our products in their original condition. The standard package for foil is a wooden crate so that the products can be protected during handling and transportation.
