Application of dysprosium

Additive in neodymium-based magnets, lasers, magnetostrictive alloys (such as terfenol-D), hard disk drives. Dysprosium is mainly used in the manufacture of a new type of lighting source – Dysprosium Lamp. It can also be used in nuclear reactors to manufacture nuclear reactor control rods.
