Ta-W Alloy

Tantalum-tungsten alloys have excellent corrosion resistance in pure tantalum. Ta2.5W can be used as anti-corrosion components in chemical heat exchange equipment, pipelines and linings, instrument anti-corrosion, rare earth smelting crucibles, etc. Adding 2.5% to 10% tungsten to tantalum increases the strength of the material. The alloying of tungsten and tantalum forms an alternative continuous solid solution, which still maintains the body-centered cubic crystal structure of tantalum and maintains the ease of processing of tantalum. Currently, tantalum alloys widely used in industry include Ta-2.5W, TaW10, TaW12, Ta-7.5W, etc.
