Tantalum tungsten alloy (TaW) excels due to its good mechanical properties and excellent corrosion resistance. Tantalum Tungsten is a high-strength metal alloy. It has a high melting point, tensile strength, and corrosion resistance. SAM’s tantalum alloys are made using powder metallurgy, where tantalum powder is mixed with alloying elements and filled into molds, compressed at temperatures of up to 2000 bar and then sintered. Ta10W alloy (90% tantalum, 10% tungsten) is one of the most popular alloys. Our TaW alloys are therefore particularly suitable for heat exchangers and heating components used in chemical instrument manufacturing.

We offer formed and machined products of tantalum and tungsten alloys according to your requirements. We can provide the same Ta-2.5W product as pure tantalum, but Ta-10W does not provide thin foil. Ta-10W has poor ductility and machinability due to its high tungsten content.

Tantalum tungsten alloy product applications

-Aerospace: Tantalum-tungsten alloy products are used in the aerospace industry to manufacture high-temperature parts and structural materials due to their high melting point, high hardness and good thermal stability. For example, they can be used to make rocket engine nozzles, combustion chambers, turbine blades, etc., which need to withstand extremely high temperatures and pressures.

-Military and national defense: In the military and national defense fields, tantalum-tungsten alloy products are often used in the manufacture of missiles, artillery shells, armor-piercing projectiles and other weapon systems due to their excellent corrosion resistance and wear resistance.
