We offer tungsten discs, washers, and squares for power semiconductors.
Tungsten discs and square discs are widely used as contact materials for silicon-controlled rectifier diodes, transistors and thyristors (GTO’s), only for professional applications. In addition, molybdenum is the preferred mounting material for power semiconductor devices due to its significantly reduced cost and weight.
Tungsten and molybdenum have similar expansion coefficients to silicon, coupled with high thermal conductivity, making them ideal choices, especially in large-area power devices that generate large amounts of heat. Other applications include the use of molybdenum and tungsten as heat sink bases in IC, LSI and hybrid circuits.
W discs and squares are cut from sheets and sheets by saw or EDM and can also be stamped.
